Hunter Douglas Inc. warrants that Duette honeycomb shades will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product, provided that such products were properly installed in residential dwellings.
Specifications:
Care and Maintenance
Regular dusting with a feather duster is all that’s necessary in most circumstances. For a more thorough cleaning, the fabric can be lightly vacuumed with brush attachment.
When needed, the fabrics can be cleaned by gently blotting with a soft, damp cloth or sponge, using lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the fabric. Take special care when cleaning opaque or blackout fabrics to avoid creasing and pilling.
Basin or Bathtub Cleaning
To clean the entire shade, immerse the assembly in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and move it around lightly with your fingers. Wash for about five minutes, then rinse with clean water. Close the shade before removing it from the rinse water. Holding the rails, tilt the shade to allow excess water to escape. Re-install the damp shade back into the window opening and lower the shade all the way to allow it to dry completely.
Important Cautions
Do not immerse Duette opaque or blackout fabrics. Do not immerse Duette EasyRise headrails.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Professional ultrasonic cleaning is generally a very safe and effective method for comprehensively cleaning a Hunter Douglas honeycomb shade. However, the shade should be handled carefully and only mild cleansing solutions should be used. In addition, the fabric should be in a stacked or closed position when being removed from the tank so that water cannot become trapped in the honeycombs.
Important Cautions
Do not ultrasonically clean Duette opaque or blackout fabrics. Do not ultrasonically clean Duette EasyRise shades.
